We are conducting testing on the inside and outside of Midnight Pass to provide insight into whether the pass should be re-opened. The Pass was closed in 1983 and our goal is to provide information into if this closer affected the water quality in Sarasota bay. To do this we are testing on the bay and gulf side of the closed pass to compare the difference in water quality. We are also conducting testing through Sarasota bay to provide us an accurate control in locations including Big Pass, North Bridge, Phillipe Creek, and at the center at Sarasota Bay.
